Since being established in 1881, Seiko has contributed to society with one revolutionary product after another - starting with the production of Japan's first wristwatch in 1913 and including the creation of the world s first quartz watch in 1969. Seiko may be best known in recent years for its development of Kinetic watches that are electrically charged every time you move your body. There's never a need to change a battery. Kinetic technology was enhanced with Kinetic Auto Relay, watches that store energy for up to 4 years. Most recently, Seiko put Kinetic technology into a chronograph, another first.
Seiko markets watches and clocks under the Seiko and Pulsar brands. Seiko Corporation of America is based in Mahwah, NJ and was formed in 1970.
